The Shenandoah Iowa Education Foundation (SIEF) is excited to announce the launch of a new project to replace and update signage across the Shenandoah Community School District (SCSD). This initiative is focused on enhancing school pride, reinforcing the district's identity, and officially ushering in the new era as the SCSD joins the Western Iowa Conference.
The project involves installing modern, updated signage at key locations throughout the district, including school entrances, a new monument sign, and directional markers. These new signs will feature a consistent and vibrant design, reflecting the foundation's commitment of supporting the Shenandoah School District. The new signage is the result of a collaboration between the Shenandoah Education Foundation, Superintendent Dr. Kerri Nelson, and SCSD leadership, with final approval granted by the school board.Â
"This is more than just replacing old signs; it's about making a visible statement that we are proud of our schools, our students, the communities’ that make up SCSD and our commitment to the future," said a representative from the Shenandoah Iowa Education Foundation. "As we embrace the challenges and opportunities of the Western Iowa Conference, this project will help unify our branding and excite our entire student body, faculty, and community."

A Community Effort
This project was made possible entirely by the generous support of dedicated community members and alumni. The Shenandoah Iowa Education Foundation (SIEF) wishes to express its deepest gratitude to each and every donor for their commitment to educational excellence in Shenandoah.
A special note of appreciation goes to all the Family Challenge participants, whose donations helped endow and solidify the necessary funding to complete these projects. Looking ahead, the Foundation is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Class Challenge, encouraging alumni from various graduation years to compete in supporting this and future educational initiatives.
The Foundation also wishes to express profound thanks to Superintendent Dr. Kerri Nelson and the SCSD Leadership for their support, cooperation, and commitment to improving the physical and cultural landscape of the school district. Their leadership has been instrumental in aligning this project with the district's goals for excellence and community engagement.
The Next Step
Installation of the new signs is scheduled to begin in Spring 2026 and will continue through the following months. The SIEF looks forward to seeing the positive impact this visible change will have on the collective morale and identity of the Shenandoah Community School District.
