Hello to all of you supporters of the Shenandoah Iowa Education Foundation!

Two additional families – both of them with kids still in the Shenandoah Schools and both with college bills likely in their future – have stepped up in recent days to match the $10,000 “family challenge” that the Shenandoah Iowa Education Foundation was presented with in September.

The Shenandoah Iowa Education Foundation invites all supporters of the Shenandoah Community Schools -- including holiday visitors -- to take part in our first annual 5K Fun Run/Walk, to be held at 8 a.m. this coming Memorial Day, Monday, May 27.

All proceeds will support the foundation's work in enhancing educational opportunities for current and future students in the Shenandoah schools.

SHENANDOAH, Iowa – The Shenandoah Iowa Education Foundation invites the public to attend a free & fun reception on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Elks Lodge to salute the teachers, support staff and all others who are preparing our students and communities for better futures.

SHENANDOAH, Iowa – In her 35 years on the faculty at Shenandoah High School, Anne B. Gee taught at least two generations of students the job-guaranteeing skills of typing, shorthand, bookkeeping and general business.  When a third generation came along late in her career, she introduced them to computers, too.

This school year’s top local education awards will be presented at a free, public reception on Wednesday evening, Nov.15, at the Elks Lodge in Shenandoah.  The event is being held as part of the celebration of American Education Week.

SHENANDOAH, Iowa, Sept. 22, 2017 –- The family of the late farmwife, mother, musician, artist and community leader Isabel Spears, who lived just south of Shenandoah, has given our Shenandoah Iowa Education Foundation its first significantly large donation -- $20,000.

The family gift is announced by Roger Spears, of Durham, N.C., a 1972 Shenandoah High School graduate and recently retired architect, in memory of his mother Isabel McQueen Spears, who died in June, 2016, at the age of 97.
